Wahed Invest has been offering robo-based and sharia-compliant investment services for several years. Recently, Wahed Invest added a new feature to their platform, called Wahed Ventures.
Wahed Ventures is a Shariah-compliant co-investment service - enabling people to invest and own stakes in local companies, especially in the form of startups.
The first company listed on Wahed Ventures is Carpedia – a company that focuses on offering gig work through it, Carpedia aims to raise funds of RM750,000 through Wahed Ventures which offers 6.98% equity, valuing the company at around RM10 million.
As many are aware, investment in the form of joint ventures is high risk, and sometimes does not provide any return when the company fails to generate profit, or takes steps to close the company.
For those of you who are interested, you can check Wahed Ventures' offerings through the existing Wahed application. Users will have to go through a review process and answer several questions before being able to proceed to Wahed Ventures investments.
