X experienced an outage a few minutes ago on smart device apps, websites and even XPro. On Android devices the timeline displays only the name of the account that sent the tweet but the text is not displayed. In fact, the date of all the messages sent shows the year 1970.
On iOS devices, the timeline simply crashes with new widgets not appearing on the timeline. This also applies to the web version as well as XPro. Disruption also seems to be happening globally and not just in Malaysia.
So far there is no information as to why the outage occurred. Sites such as downforeveryoneorjustme.com and isitdownrightnow.com show that the site started experiencing outages about 40 minutes ago when this article was written.
Updated – The site is now accessible again but is still not stable with a number of bits missing from the timeline.
