X or formerly known as Twitter is ready to introduce a subscription plan under Elon Musk. A total of three subscription plans are on offer, starting at RM13.33 per month for the basic plan, RM35 per month which provides a blue mark on the account, and also Premium+ at the price of RM70 per month which comes with the ability to write long articles through it.
Recently, X also updated the offer for the Premium+ plan, where X will no longer display any advertising for users who subscribe to this plan. This is different from before, where some ads are still displayed for subscribers of this plan.
Interestingly, this change comes days after X filed a lawsuit against the advertising agency for boycotting the platform – impacting the company's earnings. This change is also expected to impact the revenue generated by content publishers through the platform – as it takes into account revenue through ad viewing by "verified" users. With less ad display for users subscribing to the X paid plan, the shared revenue is also expected to decrease.
With this new change, let's all look forward to how it will impact the community, besides whether more people will start subscribing to the Premium+ plan.
