Since Twitter was taken over by Elon Musk and rebranded to X, the social media platform's revenue has declined. Then more and more advertisers withdraw from this platform and this makes X look for various new ways to generate income. One of them is to develop its own payment system and it may arrive soon.
An application researcher at X @nima_owji shared with TechCrunch that the X payment system is almost here. He found the Payments section in the sidebar located between Bookmarks and Articles. These payments also have features for transactions, balances and transfers. The X payment system was originally planned to be launched in mid-2024, but as this service requires a license it will take longer.
X has now received self-payment system operating licenses in 33 states in the United States. For now it is still uncertain when it will be offered to all users and whether it will be limited to Premium customers only. What about users in Malaysia? Do you want to use the payment system in X?
