Good news for Google Pixel fans in Malaysia, after years of relying on imported sets this year there will finally be an official set. This solves the problem of inconsistent sales prices as well as simplifies the warranty claim process. So can the Pixel-Pixel you bought before be claimed under warranty in Malaysia, like the iPhone which supports international warranty claims?
According to a Google Store representative, no. Google Pixel has never officially supported international warranty claims. Countries with a Google Store can claim with an official store, while those without can claim with an authorized authorized distributor and seller. However it is case by case and at the discretion of Google representatives, there are times when they will allow claims in countries where the Pixel is officially sold.
This means that in Malaysia, you cannot claim imported sets purchased at Google Store Singapore, Google Store USA or Amazon in Malaysia. You can only claim at stores such as Senheng, Maxis, CelcomDigi or other stores such as Urban Republic that have expanded the presence of the Pixel 9 series.
If you want to check it yourself, you can directly request on the Google customer service page for their representative to call you. Provided you have a Google One subscription to receive lightning fast service.
