ZOTAC, a brand of computer components and accessories maker has shown their own mobile PC console called ZOTAC The ZONE as a demo at the Computex Taipei event in the middle of this year.
ZOTAC seems to have officially launched this PC console at the ongoing Gamescom event in Germany, and confirmed its presence in a few select markets for now.
The console is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 8840U processing chip along with 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and PCIe Gen4 M.2 2280 SSD storage with 512GB of storage. It comes with a 7.0-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with Full HD resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 800nit brightness value along with a 170-degree viewing angle.
The console uses shoulder buttons with two different settings with built-in switches for different controls. Then on the analog knob there is a Hall Effect switch and a Radial Dial rotary knob that is used to control the sound level or screen brightness. It also includes two touchpads that are easy to control with the thumb.
The console also comes with two USB 4.0 plugs on the top and bottom of the console, which can be used to charge devices, and to be used with a dock that can be purchased separately when it launches.
Both of these plugs come with support for the DisplayPort 1.4 connection which allows users to connect this console to a larger display.
As said, ZOTAC seems to have already started to open pre-orders for this console in some selected regions and countries at a price of around $799 (RM3500). We have asked SunCycle if they will bring this console to the local market. The answer given is yes, it will be sold here, but the sale date and also the price tag are still unknown.
