Yesterday a bomb attack hidden in a pager killed 12 people and injured nearly 3000 in Lebanon. It is believed that a 56-gram bomb hidden in a pager used by Hezbollah members was detonated at random. No party claimed responsibility for the bombing but Hezbollah pointed the finger at the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad.
Earlier today the second attack was carried out in Lebanon and this time it caused a walkie talkie radio set to explode. A total of 20 people were reported killed while another 450 were injured in this second wave of attacks. Despite costing dozens of lives and injuring thousands of civilians Hezbollah says only 16 of their members were killed.
Once again Mossad is believed to be the mastermind behind the incident which is now labeled as a terrorist attack. Placing bombs in goods used by cloud people for war purposes is a violation of international law.
The bomb exploded in the ICOM IC-V82 model walkie talkie radio manufactured by a Japanese firm. Its production was stopped 10 years ago and ICOM does not know how their production device fell into the hands of Hezbollah operatives.
In the same development, the UN Security Council scheduled an emergency meeting on the explosion in Lebanon for tomorrow at the request of Algeria, which is the Arab representative in this powerful body.
