Acerpure Wants to Be the Leader in Home Electronics in Asia Pacific

Today in Berlin, Acer held several interview sessions in conjunction with the launch of their new products for the Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin 2024 (IFA). We had the opportunity to interview Andrew Hou as Acer's President for the Asia Pacific market and he shared something interesting about their Android tablet offerings as well as Acerpure.

First of all about Acerpure, Acer wants to be the leader in home electronics for the Asia Pacific market. Each country will have different offerings according to consumer demand as well as acceptance of home electrical goods from computer manufacturers. For example in India, Acer smart televisions have been offered while in the Philippines – they will receive Acer air conditioners. Not only that, specifically for selected markets later - hair dryers and vacuums like Dyson will also be Acerpure's new focus.

This continues because of Acer's close relationship with suppliers and manufacturers due to products that are not widely offered. It also contributes to the economy of countries such as India where Acerpure products are assembled and manufactured there. Slowly, Acer wants people who use Acerpure to get to know Acer better. In the future, products such as portable speakers, cooking items and more will also be offered.

For the re-offering of Android tablets under the Iconia series, Andrew Hou shared that it was an experiment to see the public's acceptance of their Android products. It's a low-risk project because demand for non-iPadOS tablets is still high. If this year the three tablets that have been launched receive a good reception, Acer will try to give a new focus to products in this category.
