Apple's A16 Bionic Chip is Now Manufactured in the United States Through TSMC

Previously we had reported that TSMC has already opened a factory in Arizona, United States as a step for the company to increase the production capacity of semiconductor processing chips especially for customers from that country.

Now, the factory, named Fab21 has reportedly started producing the Apple A16 Bionic semiconductor chip that will be launched in 2022 for the Apple iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, and is now used to power the Apple iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus devices.

What is interesting here is that the processing chip is now developed using the new N4P (4nm) process, and it is reported that the chip production rate at the Fab21 factory is the same as at the TSMC factory in Taiwan.

This is seen as a good news for TSMC and also companies based in the United States because it is a step to reduce the issue of supply of processing chips for their products.

The Fab21 factory will still only be operating at full capacity in 2025, but the early production of the A16 Bionic processing chip gives some confidence that TSMC is on the right track to meet the demand of the US market.
