Bluetooth 6.0 Announced – Offers More Accurate Tracking Support

The body behind the Bluetooth standard, today announced the new generation of standards and specifications for the technology, known as Bluetooth 6.0. Through it, it offers a number of new features and support.

The main focus of Bluetooth 6.0 is the Bluetooth Channel Sounding feature, which adds an additional layer to the Bluetooth LE broadcast, making it easier for users to identify the distance of a device. This is very useful in the use of device tracking technology, and can also be used in a number of other scenarios – such as a vehicle or house door that can only be opened when the phone is identified at a certain distance.

In addition, Bluetooth 6.0 also offers a lower latency rate, in addition to increasing the rate of data transferred through it - perfect for connected devices to transfer data or perform updates.

For now, only the core standards have been announced, and it is not yet known when we will see devices with Bluetooth 6.0 on the market.
