Disney+ Begins to Charge Extra for Adding Non-Home User Profiles

Disney+ has finally activated the feature of charging an additional fee to add profiles of users who do not live together. This step is taken to counter the practice of users sharing account passwords with family members or office colleagues who sit separately.

Through this new feature, an additional $6.99 per month is charged for additional Disney+ Basic profiles and $9.99 per month for additional Disney+ Premium subscription profiles. Only one additional profile can be subscribed for each existing account. This feature is first offered to customers in the United States, Canada, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Europe and Asia Pacific.

It should be noted that this feature is only for Disney+ subscribers. When the article was written, there was still no option to add a profile for Disney+ Hotstar customers in Malaysia. We are still trying to get the official statement of Disney+ Hotstar when the article is written to know if this feature will also be introduced in Malaysia one day.
