Meta is ready to launch the Threads service using a .net domain name. At the time of its introduction, another service used the domain name Threads.com, which offered a Slack-like service. However, a few months ago, the service was taken over by Shopify, and now it seems that the .com domain name has been transferred to Meta.
Through a domain ownership update, Threads.com now appears to be owned by Meta. It is not yet known as to when Meta will move their entire service from Threads.net to Threads.com – or choose to continue using just the .net domain for now.
Threads today already has over 200 million monthly active users, and the name of the URL will certainly play one of the important things when the service tries to be marketed more widely. Let's all look forward to the next development for Threads by Meta.
