EssilorLuxottica today announced they are continuing their collaboration with Meta, as well as having signed a 10-year agreement to continue developing smart glasses with the leading social media company.
Meta and EssilorLuxottica have worked together before, and have come up with connected glasses for Ray-Ban. It was offered on a limited basis before, and through this new collaboration, Meta and the glasses manufacturing company are expected to continue development to come up with more advanced smart glasses. Ray-Ban's smart glasses that are already on offer allow users to record photos, make video calls and even listen to music through them, and Meta is also testing the integration of artificial intelligence through existing Ray-Ban smart glasses.
EssilorLuxottica themselves say they are only in the early stages, and there is more development in this arena.
Previously there were also rumors that Meta would buy a stake of around 5% in EssilorLuxottica, but there is no further news regarding it until today.
