Review scores on businesses in Google searches I often use to choose whether to go to a location or use the services offered. But lately, there seems to be a cartel of fake reviews being left behind, causing the review score on the site to not be comparable to the quality of the real service. But Google may be combating this heinous practice by displaying a warning label.

According to an Engadget report, fake review warning labels have been removed from a business starting to appear in the United Kingdom. It was spotted by a user who shared the screenshot above. Google has not officially confirmed the existence of this feature but in the Search Engine Roundtable report they have made changes to the policy regarding fake reviews left by users.
How Google can detect a comment is not explained. But the mechanism used may be the same as the system for detecting comments left with malicious intent or better known as review bombing. Warning notices are only activated in the UK at the moment but it is hoped they will be rolled out worldwide as fake reviews make it difficult for people to make the right choice.
