Google Files Will Introduce a Document Summarization Feature Soon

Google is seen to be developing the ability of Google Files to produce document summaries by using artificial intelligence (Al). This feature is capable of changing the way users understand information. Users will also be given some level of control over the settings on the generated summary.

The technology behind the capability of this feature is Gemini Nano which is a fairly efficient AI model. Gemini Nano is run directly in the user's device while making the process of summarizing documents faster without using internet data.

This feature can facilitate users by saving time to understand the content of the document. For example, through it users can quickly find out the main content of each document stored in Google Files without having to read it in its entirety. Not only that, it can also help users find specific information in a document with the help of AI summary to find the most relevant part.

However, Google is yet to announce the official date of this feature but hopefully this feature will soon be available to all Android users in the near future. For now it is only accessible to a small group of users for testing purposes in the APK version.
