Google Pixel for the first time was launched in Malaysia with the Pixel 9 series. The three devices offered are Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL. The device is powered by Tensor G4 chip, uses 120Hz LTPO screen, has special AI features like Pixel Screenshot, Add Me smart camera feature and more. The selling price starts at RM3,999 and goes up to RM7,999. Recently, some official sellers have updated the price with a discount of up to RM1100.
Through the Google Store website, only six sellers are listed, namely CelcomDigi, Maxis, SenQ, Urban Republic, Shopee and Lazada. Two stores have started offering discounts, namely Shopee with a RM120 discount for all models. While Urban Republic is the highest which is RM700 for Pixel 9 and RM1100 for Pixel 9 Pro XL. Other stores still offer the same prices with discounts only given with purchases through contract or installments such as with Maxis.
This price drop is likely due to the strengthening of the Malaysian currency. Based on our monitoring on social media, the cheaper selling price of iPhone 16 than before also made people question - "If Pixel is more expensive, it's better to buy iPhone". With this price drop will you grab the chance to own the official Pixel 9 set?
