The new Honor Magic V3 foldable screen phone officially entered the global market today through the IFA 2024 event. It still retains the throne as the world's thinnest and lightest foldable screen phone to date. The previous shortcomings were also successfully compensated by Honor this time by making this version more powerful.
Among the improvements provided include a 50MP telephoto camera system with 3.5X optical and 100X digital zoom capabilities. It is also accompanied by a 50MP main lens that supports OIS and a 40MP ultra-wide/macro lens. Harcourt profile pictures can also be recorded using the device's camera system. Selfie photos can be taken using a 20MP sensor with built-in autofocus.
Another interesting thing is that the phone is now IPX8 waterproof which means you don't have to worry about getting caught in the rain or spilling water accidentally. It also now offers 50W wireless charging capability, which complements the 66W wired charging system provided. The battery is still a carbon silicon type with a larger capacity of 5,150mAh and can be recharged via the built-in USB-C port.
The body structure is now thinner with a thickness of 9.2mm when folded with a weight of only 226 grams. The screen size is 6.43" outside and 7.92" for the main display. Both support LTPO OLED panels with a 120Hz refresh rate and stylus capabilities. It is also powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip for the mainstay. A combination of 12GB RAM memory, 512GB storage and MagicOS 8.0.1 software (based on Android 14) is also used for a better user experience.
The built-in AI module in the phone is also able to facilitate user productivity. For example, like AI Magic Portal - Search To Do More which makes it easy to search images and then share them to applications that support them for various uses. One of them is the Notes application which also provides interesting additional editing options including the ability to make transcriptions in real time.
With AI Face to Face Translation, the process of understanding a foreign language becomes easy through real-time translation capabilities. It is even better when it supports the Malay language which is considered an advantage for users in this market. While anything in the picture that causes discomfort can also be easily removed using the AI Eraser feature.
It is also no less impressive by offering a stereo audio system that supports IMAX audio, a side fingerprint scanner, NFC and infrared for use as a remote control. The selling price of the device is €1999.
