Indonesia Considers To Ban Telegram And Bigo Live

The Indonesian government is now seen to be considering banning the Telegram and Bigo Live apps in the country, due to pornographic and gambling content.

According to the Indonesian Minister of Communications and Information, he plans to ban and close his access immediately, but a team is needed to conduct a study and will act on the evidence gathered by the team. If any evidence of pornographic or gambling content is found, access to both platforms will be blocked.

The Indonesian government also said that although it has issued various warnings to both platforms, the reaction and response in terms of the platform's response is insufficient.

Previously, the founder of Telegram was arrested in France, due to the use of the application for pornographic content, drugs, money laundering, fraud and terrorist activities through the application.
