After leaving Apple, Sir Jony Ive founded the design company LoveFrom which later collaborated with Ferrari, Airbnb and even the musical instrument company Linn. Recently, LoveFrom collaborated with luxury fashion brand Moncler to produce a 4-in-1 jacket with a MagSafe-like magnetic button system.
This jacket has a sleeveless undershirt named Moncore. Then there are three additional accessories that turn it into a poncho, parka and jacket. All three accessories connect to the Moncore using a circular magnetic button. This Duo Button consists of a round magnetic button on the Moncore and another coil-shaped button on all three accessories.
When the two buttons are matched, they will stick tightly so that they stay in place. It also still allows owners to quickly change outer layers like a modular accessory.
Moncler and Jony Ive took four years to produce the Duo Button. The jacket will go on sale on September 24 but the price has not yet been announced.
