macOS Users Need to Say Goodbye to Older Versions of WhatsApp

WhatsApp, the world's most popular messaging app, has recently announced that they will be discontinuing the old version of the desktop app for macOS users. This announcement must have surprised many Mac users who have become accustomed and comfortable with the display and features available on the WhatsApp software in the old version.

The reason behind this change is because WhatsApp wants to provide a better and modern user experience to users. Older versions based on Electron are considered to no longer meet the level of compatibility with the latest macOS features. The transition to Catalyst technology is expected to make the application more stable, smooth and display a fresher interface.

The old version of the WhatsApp application for Mac will stop working around the end of October 2024 which is 54 days away. This means, all Mac users who are still using the old version of the WhatsApp application need to switch to the new version or use the web version in order to continue using WhatsApp on their computer. This change is expected to provide a better experience for all users.
