Mozilla is now seen choosing to extend the support of their Firefox web browser for some versions of Windows, until the year 2025. Previously, support for Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 was scheduled to end in September 2024.
However, through an update to Firefox's development schedule, it is seen that support for the Windows operating system will be extended until April 1, 2025. Firefox 115 ESR will receive updates until that date.
With this step, it simultaneously makes Firefox one of the best web browsers for users of the operating system in keeping browsing the web safely. Several web browser manufacturers are ready to end support for older Windows operating systems, including Microsoft itself which has ended Edge support for older operating systems since 2023.
