OpenAI, the technology company behind intelligence services like ChatGPT that powers many AI components of existing software is apparently in talks to introduce a new subscription plan for their more advanced AI language models.
For now, OpenAI offers a $20 subscription for the ChatGPT Plus service that allows users to access the latest features of ChatGPT, Dall-E 3 and so on.
Recently, several reports have said that OpenAI is expected to introduce a new, more premium subscription program that is separate from the existing ChatGPT service.
This subscription plan will reportedly use their latest Strawberry speaker model, which is said to come with the ability to detect the context of queries and conversations being presented to it.
Apart from answering questions from users and displaying simple answers, Strawberry's language model can also find internal details about a topic and solve complex math problems and so on.
OpenAI seems to be quite confident with their latest speech model, because according to a report by The Information, discussions are currently taking place in OpenAI's shareholders' room about how this model should be marketed.
Among the hotly discussed figures now seems to have a range between $200 to $2000 per month, which is certainly seen as absurd by anyone who is currently paying $20 for the ChatGPT Plus service.
The price of this payment also includes the replacement of the ChatGPT4o public address model called Orion. In fact, OpenAI's AI model development technology is seen to be very advanced in the future, where Strawberry is seen to be used to help in Orion's machine learning which is expected to replace ChatGPT-4o in the future.
So far, it is not known when OpenAI will show Strawberry or Orion, but the same report expects that one of these models will be shown in just a few months.
