Last June, Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 with 6nm technology. This morning the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 was announced and it was produced using Samsung's 4nm technology. The chip comes with four 2.40 GHz Cortex-78 CPU cores and four 1.80GHz Cortex-A55 cores paired with an Adreno 710 GPU. Despite maintaining the same CPU core usage, the difference between the 6 Gen 3 and the 6s Gen 3 lies in the more powerful GPU and the technology it is manufactured in.
Completing this chipset is modem support in addition to offering support for QuickCharge 4+, LPDDR5 memory, UFS 3.1 storage, WiFi 6E, bluetooth 5.2 and a main camera up to 200MP or a 16MP tri-camera.
According to Qualcomm, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 offers a 10% increase in CPU performance, 30% in GPU performance and 20% in AI performance compared to Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. There is no information on the first device that will use this chip.
