Starlink, an internet service based on satellite beams, shared that they have made their own history when they now have more than 4 million users worldwide. This allows Starlink users to access high-speed internet, regardless of location or surface conditions.
In Malaysia itself, Starlink has been offered since last July 2023. It offers the service at a subscription price of RM220 per month, but users need to get the hardware for it separately first at a price of RM2300. For a limited time, Starlink is now offering the hardware at a price of RM1600.
Previously, Starlink shared last May 2024 that they had reached 3 million users, and now managed to add 1 million new users in a relatively fast time.
In addition to Starlink, several other companies are also looking at the same arena, including China which has also started to venture into offering the same. Starlink itself is also looking at offering cellular services directly to smartphones soon.
