It's no secret that Huawei and Samsung are interested in launching smartphones with tri-fold screens. Today the Tecno Phantom Ultimate 2 is shown and it is a concept device that also shows their aspirations to offer a product with the same design.
Although the video above is quite short, it successfully shows how the tri-fold screen can be used in everyday life. The screen is folded in the shape of the letter Z with it being pulled into the hand to open and not like opening a book on a Fold type device. When closed, the outer screen is 6.48" before changing to a 10" screen with a 4:3 ratio when open.
With the screen fully open, videos can be watched on a larger screen. There is also a demo of transferring files from one application to another using the drag and drop technique. Up to three applications can be launched simultaneously using multi window mode.
Next one of the screen windows can be folded to become a base so that the device can stand upright without a special holder. One of the screens can also be a keyboard with the other two screens displaying content at a still large size. On the back can be seen a tri-camera system each of 50MP. Other specifications of this concept device are still under wraps
In the fully folded position, Phantom says the Phantom Ultimate 2 is only 11mm thick but appears thinner when unfolded. At this point the device is still a concept with no plans to sell it in the near future.
