The Samsung Galaxy S25 Series Will Use a Full Snapdragon Chip

This year there was disappointment among a few Samsung device buyers when the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip was only used on the Galaxy S24 Ultra model. The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ are equipped with an Exynos 2400 chip which is seen as a less powerful processor. Today there is a report from Korea that says next year's Galaxy S25 series will use a full Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip.

The decision is said to be taken because Samsung has not yet been able to produce the Exynos 2500 chip in sufficient quantity and wafer quality. Although Samsung launched their 3nm technology earlier than TSMC, TSMC's 3nm technology became the chip manufacturer's choice because of its lower wafer failure percentage.

Even so, the Eyxnos 2500 chip will still be produced by Samsung and it will also be used in the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 series according to the same report. So the year 2025 without Exynos on Samsung flagship devices will not happen.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip is highly anticipated because it is the first Snapdragon 8 series equipped with the Oryon CPU which is only used on the Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus chips so far. It is able to offer a dramatic increase in CPU performance compared to the Cortex-X4 used on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
