Volvo Malaysia is one of the first brands to offer all their cars with electric technology, where from 2021 all their offerings are petrol cars with hybrid batteries (PHEV). After launching the C40 Recharge & XC40 Recharge, today they announced their latest electric car, the EX30.
The Volvo EX30 is an electric car in the compact class where it also uses the Geely SEA 2 platform and is also used on the Smart #1. It is offered in 3 versions namely the EX 30 Plus and Ultra which is a single motor version in the rear RWD that provides 276PS power and 343Nm of torque and can accelerate from 0-100km/h as fast as 5.1 seconds, and also the EX 30 Ultra Twin Performance which is a two motor AWD version which provides 434PS of power and 543Nm of torque enabling acceleration from 0-100km/h in 3.1 seconds. both models have the same maximum speed of 180 km/h.
In terms of battery, all Volvo EX30 have the same battery which is 69 kWh which gives a travel distance of around 480 WLTP and the Ultra Twin Performance version has a travel distance of around . It is equipped with 180kW DC fast charging that enables 20-80% charging in 28 minutes and 11kW AC charging.
As a brand full of premium functions, the Volvo EX30 also features various smart functions including self-parking system, level 2 self-driving system, driver monitoring system, accident detection system and many more. Harman Kardon speakers come in the form of a 'soundbar' that can fill the entire driving area so there are no speakers in the door, to maximize storage space.
In maintaining universal sustainability, the Volvo EX30 is also a vehicle from Volvo that has the lowest carbon footprint. This is achieved by using recycled materials such as 25% aluminum and 17% iron and 17% plastic for the body of this electric car. Even the fabric of this car also uses materials that have been recycled.
Volvo EX 30 Plus will be offered at a price of RM 188,888, EX 30 Ultra at a price of RM 208,888 and EX 30 Ultra Twin Performance will be offered at a price of RM 228,888. All versions will be offered in five color options with a comprehensive 5-year unlimited mileage warranty, 8-year high-voltage battery warranty, 5-year free maintenance service, 5-year emergency roadside assistance, and internet access and Google services.
