Winamp is one of the most popular media players in the early 2000s. One of its advantages in addition to playing music easily, it also allows users to change the design and display according to their individual tastes.
Now, under new management, Winamp is taking steps to offer the source code for their legacy players in open form. This at the same time allows the public to also contribute development support in continuing to be present with new versions for the player.
However, under the source code offering license, it is not offered in a fully open source form, and does not allow commercial use for the code. This at the same time makes the community unable to come up with a better version as expected, but subject to Winamp's own new licensing.
Anyway, for those of you who are interested, you can check out the source code for Winamp via the GitHub page today.
