Windows Recall Can't Be Removed By User

The WIndows Recall feature will be given to Windows Insider users for a second phase of testing next October. The original plan to offer it to all Copilot+ PCs was shelved after some security and privacy issues surfaced. Users who already received early access to Recall now report that there is an option to uninstall this artificial intelligence (AI) application from their PC.

But Microsoft has already confirmed this is just a bug. On the full version of Recall that will be given to all users later, it cannot be uninstalled. Users can simply deactivate it if they are worried about the risk of the application taking screenshots of information they want to keep secret,

Recall was launched as a feature that can remember pages that have been visited, information in emails and even pictures stored on the computer. But because screenshots are not encrypted, they can be stolen by hackers to commit identity theft. Until now Microsoft has not announced when the Recall will be given to all.
