YouTube Hype Introduced To Help Boost Small Content Creator Channels

Am I the only one or are you experiencing the same thing, when searching for videos on YouTube it now often suggests lesser known channels and from small content creators just starting out? YouTube just announced Hype for users to help small content creators get more popular.

This feature is for YouTube videos that have been published less than 7 days with less than 500,000 subscribers. Hype is different from Like or Subscribe because it will not interfere with the user's content recommendations, instead it will only give points to the content creator. Hype can be done 3 times a week and the most Hype videos will be in the scoreboard of the 100 most Hype videos by country. This video will continue to be popular and it will be easier for people to recommend content.

According to YouTube, it's like a biayasama program where you receive popular content that can become favorite videos and at the same time your new favorite content creators become more famous. YouTube tested in America, Japan and Germany which received 80% feedback from Gen Z who agreed to help small content creators.

Currently Hype is offered to small groups in Brazil, Taiwan and Turkey. It will be developed gradually according to public feedback. YouTube also plans to sell Hype credits, so that users can hype the videos of small content creators more than 3 times a week.

The brand new Communities turn the YouTube channel into a mini social media platform. It uses the same concept of comments and Likes on YouTube videos but in its own space. It is also controlled by the channel owner and they can choose who joins. Every conversation and comment can be shared, making it a private place with a select few giving feedback on existing videos or new ideas.
