Netflix is the paid video streaming platform with the highest number of subscribers in the world. But the real video streaming platform champion is YouTube. But for anyone who has used YouTube for years the way content is organized and displayed in the app is confusing. It's a far cry from the fire when compared to today's Netflix.
At today's Made on YouTube event, some interesting announcements were made, including that on the TV app, the display of content in the channel will be more similar to that used on Netflix. When going to a certain channel, there will be an option to watch content by show name and also a list of episodes by season.
When the channel is accessed, it no longer displays stacked boxy thumbnails but instead has large, more immersive images that make the content look more professional. All these features will be introduced in stages starting in early 2025.
