AMD and Intel Form Advisory Group Securing the Future of X86



The X86 computing architecture began to be challenged by ARM after more than four decades of being the basis of the world's various computer operating systems. Since Apple took the early steps, this year ARM's advantage over X86 can be seen. on computers using Snapdragon X chips. To ensure the direction of X86 is on the right track and meets industry needs, AMD and Intel have established a new advisory group.



The x86 Ecosystem Advisory Group was also formed to improve compatibility and innovation in the x86 architecture. In addition to these two leading chip manufacturers, the group also includes Broadcom, Dell, Google, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, HP Inc., Lenovo, Meta, Microsoft, Oracle, and Red Hat along with Linus Torvalds and Tim Sweeney


The group will bring together industry leaders to shape the future of x86, facilitate software development, and provide a platform to identify architectural requirements and features.
