Last night Apple launched a new iMac with the M4 chip. It comes with Apple Intelligence integration, running macOS Sequoia, a 24-inch screen with a 4.5K Retina resolution with nano texture layer options, a Center Stage 12MP camera and 4x Thunderbolt 4. The selling price starts from RM5,799 and can reach up to RM12,649.
Interestingly, this iMac M4 is Apple's first Mac device that supports single-screen output up to 8K with a 120Hz refresh rate. Previously powerful Mac devices only supported up to 8K 60Hz. However, not all iMac M4s support this feature, only models with 10-core GPUs do. Models with 8-core GPUs will be limited to 6K 60Hz.
For connection to two screens the iMac M4 supports 6K 60Hz. This means that there is a huge potential for other Mac devices with the upcoming M4 chip to also receive this kind of screen extension feature.
