Apple today introduced a new Mac Mini with a more compact design. Also accompanying the announcement was the introduction of Apple's new M4 Pro chip – which brings better processing power and graphics support.
Apple M4 Pro comes with support for up to 14-core CPU, as well as up to 20-core GPU. This chip brings a design combination of 10 performance cores and 4 efficient cores on the CPU side, allowing various tasks to be done smoothly using it. This chip also brings support for memory up to 64GB RAM.
Complementing this chip is also Neural Engine support, which is 3 times faster than the M1 version. Also, for the first time, the Apple M4 Pro adds Thunderbolt 5 support, which allows data transfer to reach speeds of 120Gb/s – double that of previous Thunderbolt 4.
For now, only the Mac Mini has been announced with this chip option. We may see the introduction of laptops and others using this chip this week.
