Astro today announced that their sports channel, Astro SuperSport will be updated with new numbers and channel names starting 17 October 2024. A total of 7 different sports channels will be shown, and even though all of them appear with different names, they are still under the same channel group.
With this upcoming update, the seven channels that will be shown include Astro Sports UHD, Astro Grandstand, Astro Premier League, Astro Premier League 2, Astro Football, Astro Badminton and Astro Sports Plus.
Astro Grandstand for example was introduced to show major sporting events such as Olympic, Commonwealth, Football World Cup and so on. Astro Premier League 1 and 2 will display live broadcasts of English Premier League football matches as well as other television broadcasts related to it.
Astro Football and Astro Badminton will focus on these two sports by showing broadcasts of qualifying matches as well as badminton competitions held throughout the year.
