Axiom Space Astronaut Suit Receives Prada's Luxury Touch

Axiom Space is a private company that plans to build a hotel in space and also has aspirations of sending paid astronauts to the surface of the moon. Yesterday Axiom Space showed the Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit (AxEMU) suit that will be worn by NASA astronauts when performing the Artemis III mission on the surface of the moon. What makes this month's surface suit quite unique is that it receives the touch of luxury fashion brand Prada.

AxEMU's outer fabric materials are selected and sewn using Prada's expertise. Each suit is equipped with an HD camera and also a 4G LTE connection on the surface of the moon. In addition, there is a system that ensures astronauts can perform activities for eight hours on the surface of the moon. It is designed to be worn by astronauts of different body sizes and genders.

Artemis III wanted to return humans to the surface of the moon. It was originally to be done by 2026 with one of the NASA astronauts landing on the moon becoming the first woman. The Artemis mission has experienced several delays due to issues with the SLS rocket, the Boeing Starliner capsule and the Starship spacecraft which are not yet fully operational.
