Bahasa Melayu Wikipedia celebrated its 22nd anniversary last October 26. After 22 years of existence, Bahasa Melayu Wikipedia now has 392,156 articles and also has 645 active registered members.
To celebrate this anniversary, wikipediawan and wikipediawati held an editing event to increase the number of new articles in Malay. At this point, Bahasa Melayu Wikipedia is ranked 35th in terms of the number of articles that have been published. A total of 6,338,368 edits have also been produced by community members.
This number is still much lower than the English Wikipedia which is at the top with 6,902,547 articles since it opened on January 15, 2001.
