Bing has now started offering search results generated by artificial intelligence (AI) similar to the AI Overview feature on Google Search last July. When a search is performed, the search results in the form of an AI-generated summary will be placed at the top with other links placed below it. Today Bing Generative Search has been updated with a more comprehensive interface and display of briefings.
In the summary will be placed a link to several pages that are deemed relevant to the search made by the user. By linking to relevant websites, Bing says it will still generate clicks for the owners of the information source sites to maintain the existing ecosystem. To generate answers, Microsoft uses a large language model (LLM) as well as a small language model (SLM) to provide more accurate search results.
A normal Bing search can still be done by entering a keyword in the search box. To get a generative AI search, press the Deep Search button located next to the search box. Bing will take a few seconds to process and find the information the user needs.
Bing says it takes a long time to ensure the correct information is provided. Microsoft does not want the issue of inaccurate information being provided as happened to Google Search's AI Overview search.
