Boeing Will Cut 17 Thousand Jobs And Delay New Airplane Production

Boeing is a brand that is well known for their wide range of aircraft offerings, including their Boeing 737 Max, Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Having faced various issues in recent years, such as the issue of the Boeing 737 Max9 door detaching during flight and the Boeing Starliner that could not bring back the crew that flew to the International Space Station due to problems with the cockpit. /

Now, Boeing is facing a new problem where as many as 33 thousand factory workers are on strike and this is causing the production of their 737 Max9 airplanes to be severely disrupted. This has apparently been happening since mid-September 2024, and is causing Boeing to face serious losses because typically, half of the payments for an airplane will only be made after the airline receives their airplane.

Kelly Ortberg, CEO of Boeing who has just taken over the position has made a big announcement where Boeing will throw away around 10 percent, or 17 thousand of their employees, many of whom are executives and also company managers within a few months.

This will also reportedly happen in stages, and is part of Boeing's restructuring to ensure they remain competitive in the airplane manufacturing industry.

In the meantime, the development of the Boeing 777X airplane will also be delayed. The aircraft, which is expected to start being delivered to airlines in 2025, seems to only be launched around 2026.
