During the presentation of the 2025 Budget, Finance Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim also announced that a new fund called the National Fund-of-Funds (NFoF) will be introduced under Khazanah Nasional Berhad which will be developed next year with funds amounting to RM1.0 billion.
This NFoF will support venture capital fund managers (venture capitalists) by investing in start-up companies with RM300 million starting in 2025. Meanwhile, the Retirement Fund will also provide RM1.0 billion to support the same industry, with an investment of RM200 million set for next year as well.
Cradle Fund will also be allocated with RM65 million to help start-up companies with potential to expand to regional and global levels. This also includes a matching grant worth RM15 million as an incentive for GLCs to partner with start-ups through corporate venture capital efforts.
