The success of the Selangor Red Giants (SRG) in winning the Mid-Season Cup Mobile Legend Bang Bang (MLBB) 2024 tournament not only created history for the Malaysian team. In fact, it opened the eyes of many parties and was able to change the perception of many parties towards the world of e-sports.
Accordingly, the government today agreed to provide 20 million ringgit in empowering the e-sports ecosystem which includes talent development as well as upgrading the e-sports arena. This announcement can be considered interesting considering that funding for sports developers has now been returned after being included alongside video game development in last year's budget presentation.
