BYD remains the leader in the top 10 electric vehicles (EVs) sold in Malaysia and has sold more than 10,000 EVs in Malaysia with a choice of SUV, compact SUV and sedans such as the BYD Atto 3, BYD Dolphin and BYD Seal. Today they launched an Electric multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) which is the BYD M6 which comes with 7 seats.
The BYD M6 Electric MPV is offered in two versions, the Standard and Extended versions. The Standard version has a 55.4 kWh battery that provides a 420KM NEDC travel distance with a DC 89 kW charging rate, a 120kW electric motor power that allows acceleration from 0-100km/h in 10.1 seconds.
The Extended version provides a longer travel distance of 530 KM NEDC because it has a 71.8 kWh battery that supports a DC 115kW charging rate. It also has an electric motor that provides 150 kW of power allowing acceleration from 0-100km/h in 8.6 seconds.
As an MPV that can accommodate 7 people, it is also equipped with various functions such as V2L allowing users to install electrical equipment on the available 3-pin plug, a 12.8-inch display that can rotate and support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, a 15W wireless charger for smartphones , a storage space of 580 liters when the third row seats are folded, as well as comprehensive driving safety functions.
The BYD M6 Standard version will be sold at a price of RM 109,800 while the Extended version is offered at a price of RM 123,800. Both of these versions also come with a 6-year or 150,000 KM warranty, an 8-year or 160,000 KM battery warranty with a battery capacity of over 70% and a warranty of 8 year or 150,000km for electric motor units.
