ByteDance Expected to Cut Further Workforce Numbers Next Month

TikTok this week has cut nearly 500 jobs in Malaysia, mainly involving those working on content monitoring. One of the reasons for the reduction of employees is in an effort to restructure the company's operations, and to use the advantages of technology in the monitoring and surveillance of content.

At the same time, ByteDance or TikTok is also reported by Reuters to reduce more employees next month, in an effort to consolidate a number of regional operations. Which country's workers will be affected is still unknown.

ByteDance has over 110,000 employees in 200 cities worldwide. With the development of technology, various companies began to use the integration of artificial intelligence in reducing the burden of repetitive tasks by human workers, while also reducing the company's operating costs.
