Class B License Transition Conditions Relaxed – No Longer 10 Consecutive Years Active

The government had previously announced the Special Malaysian Driving License Transition Program, allowing those with class B1 or B2 driving licenses to easily upgrade to class B (high-powered motorcycles). One of the conditions originally placed is to have a B1 or B2 class license that has been active for at least 10 consecutive years. However, taking into account public feedback, the conditions have now been relaxed.

Through the new conditions, users only need to have an active license for 10 years and above, and not necessarily consecutively. This change was made considering that there are a large number of users who cannot meet the requirements, due to the MCO due to Covid-19, the relaxation of license renewal was given by the government.

Apart from the changes in the relevant conditions, the other conditions are still the same as before. This new update is being rolled out to everyone starting today, and eligibility checks can be done directly through the MyJPJ application.
