Last week, many speculated that DJI would launch its own mirrorless camera but it turned out not to because the product that arrived last night was the DJI Air 3S. A new drone that is more capable in video recording but remains with a smaller body.
The DJI Air 3S comes with a 50MP+48MP dual-camera system, one with a 1-inch CMOS sensor and the other with a 70mm telephoto sensor. According to DJI, this new camera system will help when recording video at night which is also made easier with Non-GPS RTH + the new Nighttime RTH sensor to avoid any obstacles when flying in the dark.
Air 3S also promises the ability to record free panoramic video, a more balanced flight, HDR video quality and a battery that can last for 45 minutes for a 20 kilometer flight. DJI also guarantees 30% better video quality with 2.7K resolution vertical video recording features, MasterShots, QuickShots, Hyperlapse and more retained.
ActiveTrack 360° was also introduced for more organized motion video recording and smarter control. Then 4G connection via DJI Cellular Dongle 2 is also supported, 42GB built-in storage and simple video editing applications remain free to use.
In Malaysia, the DJI Air 3S is sold at a price of RM4,599. DJI also offers various bundles of purchase and sale of various accessories such as ND filters and so on.
