Google Photos Will Soon Label AI-Generated Images

The images generated by generative artificial intelligence models are becoming more and more realistic over time. If not researched properly, anyone can be confused and can invite various problems such as defamation issues. Because of that, some AI platforms put watermarks and social media platforms started labeling the images in question. Most recently, Google Photos will also do the same thing.

According to a report by Android Authority, the Google Photos app has some code that will enable a feature to tell users which images are generated with AI. This feature detects the metadata on the image and will display the IPTC credit. More interestingly, Google Photos will also support displaying the source where the image was generated. This is because all AI-generated images have their own digital identity.

At the moment it is still unknown when this feature will be given to users. Anyway, it's an important and mandatory feature for all not to be confused with AI generated realistic images.
