UWB is the most interesting connection feature because it quickly identifies accessories and also supports a very precise search feature. Recently, Google introduced a new UWB feature for Google Pixel devices that can take advantage of Google Cast in a more interesting way of use.
This feature is called Hold close to cast, where users can hold the Pixel phone close to the Pixel Tablet connected to its dock. This feature appears to be supported with the YouTube Music app where the device needs to be unlocked but the app doesn't need to be opened. After the Pixel phone is brought close to the Pixel Tablet, a notification will be displayed to play music directly on the tablet.
For now its use is still limited to Pixel and Pixel Tablet devices. In the near future support will be distributed to other Android devices. Not sure if in the future Google will expand Hold close to cast to televisions or other devices. Who knows can be an alternative to Spotify Connect or AirPlay which is more universal?
