To this day I still don't understand why both Android and iOS official app stores don't have a download manager. Not everyone likes to see download progress notifications and monitor the application icon on the home screen again to be usable. Most recently, the Play Store will come with its own download manager.
It is different from the notification system that tells the application is being downloaded and is ready to use. There is a special icon at the top that changes from a down arrow with a green scroll animation to a gray check mark icon. When this icon is pressed, a new window will appear displaying the installed and currently downloaded applications.
This feature is still in its early stages and has not been activated for users. As far as it has been revealed it is so basic that there is no option to pause or stop app downloads. Basically it's a download notification from within the app. There is no information when this feature will be given to users.
