Google Cirlce to Search is the most useful AI search feature for Android devices. After months of being exclusive to Pixel and Samsung devices, it is now available on Xiaomi and Honor devices. Recently, Circle to Search has been updated with a feature that many people hate.
Circle to Search now no longer has quick access to Google Lens. Instead, whenever Circle to Search is invoked – the Google search bar is now limited to entering text or voice commands. Two other features that have been retained are quick access to audio search and translate text. This leaves people who rely on additional searches with Google Lens to do two jobs, which is to access through the Google app.
This Circle to Search update appears to have been distributed to all users widely. As a Circle to Search and Google Lens user, this lack of quick access leaves me disappointed with this new update and hoping that Google Lens will make a comeback one day.
