Halide Starts to Support Manual Control With Camera Control iPhone 16

Camera Control is a new control button introduced on the iPhone. According to Apple, Camera Control is not a button although it can be pressed because inside there are other electrical components, a haptic engine and even a glass protector. These non-buttons are present on all iPhone 16s, and recently third-party apps began to accept additional controls.

The third-party camera app Halide Mark II – Pro Camera has been updated to support Camera Control more deeply. Previously it was the same as other camera applications such as Pro Camera by Moment where Camera Control can only be used to open the application. This new update allows users to control focus with a smoother experience and exposure to light with -/+ 6 EV controls compared to the iOS camera app which is limited to -/+ 2 EV.

Halide also allows locking the Camera Control so that it is not depressed. More interestingly, Halide ensures that when the user presses the Camera Control the picture will continue to be taken instead of releasing the finger and the picture is taken. This makes the process of taking pictures faster. Halide also made sure that the iPhone 16 Pro's ProRAW Zero Shutter Lag feature was supported and that pictures with Process Zero without any processing were taken with Camera Control.

Halide Mark II – Pro Camera is offered in Malaysia at a price of RM12.90 per month or RM52.90 per year. If you're not interested in cashing out, more apps will be supported like Snapchat. Instagram is already supported but only a shortcut to open the app.
